Full contact: Bringing bodies together and apart. Experimental setups: Two bodies, hanging upside down, side by side on a pole. Five bodies attached, holding hands in a circle. Two bodies wearing shoes with spikes on a wooden floor, trying jumps. One body has a bowling ball as partner. Two bodies, intertwining then unwinding on the floor.
Not without a subtle sense of humor, the artists explore the choreographic movement potential of their bodies. Screws shows five scenes in five different locations and invites the audience to take a short stroll with them.
Alexander Vantournhout, who created this experimental equipment, was seen before at cirqu': He appeared on stage without clothes, with a long neck and heavy shoes, and he allowed the audience to participate in his unusual study of movement.
