Get Involved: Workshops During the 10 Days of the Festival
The festival invites the audiences not only to enjoy an exciting programme of circus performances, but also to actively participate. A diverse range of workshops offers the chance to get creative, explore physical expression, and dive into artistic processes.
Whether it's the unique underwater workshop by the company behind Aquasonic, the thought-provoking format «Between Violence and Care» by Cie. Un Loup pour l’Homme, or the playful children's workshop – there are plenty of opportunities to step out of the audience and into the action.
On 15 June, the internationally renowned company Between Music offers a deep dive into the fascinating world of underwater sound. In a warm-water pool, participants will learn to sing and play percussive instruments underwater – without creating bubbles! This immersive sonic experience is open to all and requires no prior knowledge. Just remember to bring a swim mask and wetsuit.

On 21 June, Alexandre Fray of Cie. Un Loup pour l’Homme invites participants to explore the foundations of partner acrobatics in his workshop «Between Violence and Care: The Relationship to the Other in Partner Acrobatics». Key concepts such as balance, trust, and playful improvisation are examined through physical practice. The focus lies on respectful interaction with one’s own body and that of others – an ideal opportunity for those interested in the social dimensions of acrobatics.

Young and future circus artists also get their moment in the spotlight: on 18 June, children aged 5 and up are invited to explore the circus world from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at Maienzugplatz. Guided by professional circus educators from Circus Aarcus and the Capriola Circus School, they can try out juggling, acrobatics, balancing acts, or clowning. This drop-in workshop is free and open to all – come by, join in, and stay as long as you’re having fun!
